We need to add one DNS record so your funnel can live at an address like go.yourdomain.com. Your existing website stays exactly where it is.
You need to be signed in as the owner of the GoDaddy account — delegates can't invite other delegates. If someone else in your business bought the domain, forward this guide to them instead.
One new DNS record, added alongside your existing ones. Nothing we do removes or edits a record that serves your current site. Think of your domain as a building: your website is the front door at yourdomain.com, and we’re adding a side door at go.yourdomain.com. The front door is untouched.
There are two ways to let us do that. Option A is faster and is what we recommend. Option B means we never touch your account at all. Both work — pick whichever you’re comfortable with.
Go to account.godaddy.com/access. You'll be asked to sign in. You can also reach it from your profile under Account Settings → Delegate Access.
It sits under the heading People who can access my account, near the top of the page.
The email has to match the one on our agency GoDaddy account, or the invite won't reach us.
GoDaddy offers three. Pick the narrowest one:
GoDaddy emails us the invitation. The invite expires if it isn't accepted within 48–72 hours, so send it when you know we're expecting it.
Delegate access alone doesn't always carry domain permissions. Go to dcc.godaddy.com/folders, select the pencil icon beside All Domains, switch Management Access to On, and save.
Without this, we can see the account but can't change a single record — which usually shows up as a day lost to back-and-forth.
Drop us a message once it's away. We have to accept manually, and GoDaddy will notify you the moment we do.
| Type | CNAME |
|---|---|
| Host / Name | go — or whichever prefix you prefer |
| Points to | we send you this exact value |
| TTL | Auto, or 1 hour |
In GoDaddy, go to My Products, select DNS beside your domain, then Add New Record. Copy and paste the values rather than retyping them — a single wrong character is the difference between working and not.
Changes usually take effect within minutes. GoDaddy quotes up to 48 hours as a worst case, which is rare. Your existing site is unaffected throughout.
No to both, and it’s worth knowing exactly why rather than taking our word for it.
If we ever need to touch something that already exists, we tell you before we do it and explain what and why. On a normal funnel build it never comes up.
Ownership of the domain stays with you throughout. We recommend every client keep registrar ownership in their own name permanently, including after working with us.
You're likely signed in to a delegate account rather than the owner account, or to the wrong GoDaddy login. Sign out fully and back in with the account that holds the domain.
Cancel the pending invite and send a fresh one. They lapse after 48–72 hours.
Step 6 is almost always the cause. Check that Management Access is switched on for the All Domains folder.
That's a reasonable position. Tell us and we'll send the exact records to enter instead — it's slower and more error-prone, but it works.
Return to the Delegate Access page, find us under people with access, and select Remove. It takes effect immediately and needs no notice to us.
Stuck anywhere in this, send me a screenshot of what you're looking at and I'll point at the button.
In your corner,
